Use your iPhone as a temporary SayAll controller
The iPhone app is an experience and backup option when a physical remote is unavailable. It sends buttons and microphone audio to your Mac over a local connection, without routing them through the public internet.
Connect for the first time
- Place the iPhone and Mac on the same local network, then open SayAll on the Mac.
- Explicitly click Connect iPhone in the Mac app, then open the iPhone app.
- On the first connection, compare the two-digit code and approve it on the Mac.
- Allow Local Network access on iPhone, and allow Microphone access when you use voice.
Stuck on Searching
Confirm the Mac is still waiting for an iPhone and keep both apps in the foreground. In iPhone Settings, verify that SayAll has Local Network access, then return to the app and use the refresh button. You do not need to change advanced router settings or connect to a public internet service.
Buttons work, but voice does not
Confirm microphone permission on the iPhone; verify Accessibility permission and the compatible microphone status in the Mac app; and select SayAll's compatible microphone in your dictation tool. The system microphone indicator should appear on iPhone while recording.
Share diagnostic logs
On the second iPhone screen, tap Share Logs to export a redacted .log file. Include the exact time of the issue, iPhone model, OS version, and Mac app version. Logs exclude recordings, button content, IP addresses, verification codes, and keys.
Contact support
If the issue continues, email support@sayall.app with the time it occurred, your device model, and OS version.
